Kay Kotan: What Is Your Community Saying About Your Church?
Churches often rely on internal information and self impressions when making decisions about the life of the congregation. Unfortunately, this information and impressions are not always accurate impressions and reflections of the greater community about your church. How many first-time guests are you receiving? How many returning guests? What are they saying about their experience? Do you know? How are you gaining this information?
“We don’t know where our first impressions come from or precisely what they mean, so we don’t always appreciate their fragility.”
Malcolm Gladwell
Whether guests return or not, they will be promoters or detractors for your church. As churches, we do not often understand nor pay attention to the fragility of those first impressions of our first-time guests. Instead, we often make our decisions based on keeping the existing people comfortable and happy.
Are the first impressions and experiences your congregation offers creating promoters or distracters for your church? Do you know? If not, you are missing out on critical pieces of information which are indicators leading to either potential growth or decline of your church.
In this webinar we will explore how knowing your NPS (Net Promoter Score) is essential in reaching new people. A positive NPS can have non-attenders recommending your church creating momentum and excitement in your community. And, what church wouldn’t want that kind of reputation in their community!
